I have been flying Air Taxi under Part 135 rules and giving flight instruction at Lake Hood since 1988. I started Ptarmigan Air in 1992 and operated DeHavilland DHC-2, Cessna 185, and Piper PA-18 aircraft on floats, wheels, and skis. I was the chief pilot and provided the training for our pilots. I have experience giving flight instruction in aircraft ranging from a Super Cub on floats to a Lear 35.
I sold Ptarmigan Air in 2003 and started ACME Cub Training. Over the past 20 years I have tweaked a syllabus that teaches pilots techniques to stay safe when operating in the extremes of the Bush.
In addition to owning and flying light twins, Beaver, Cessna, and Piper float planes, I have given instruction in almost every model of single engine aircraft that is on floats.
